Who We Are

What Data We Collect

Currently: none. The Hamster Wheel is an offline game. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

Specifically:

• We do not require an account to play
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information
• We do not track your location
• We do not use analytics or crash reporting services
• We do not serve ads
• We do not share data with third parties

Local Storage (On Your Device)

The game saves your progress locally on your device using your browser's localStorage (on web) or the device's local storage (on iOS). This data never leaves your device. It includes:

• Your saved game state (turn, cash, stats, inventory)
• Your audio and display preferences
• Your chosen character and cosmetic settings

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or by uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

The Hamster Wheel is rated 4+ on the App Store. Because we do not collect any personal data from any user, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations. No data from children under 13 — or anyone else — is collected or transmitted.

Future Online Features (Optional)

We may add optional online features in the future, such as leaderboards or multiplayer. If and when we do:

• Any online feature will be explicitly optional — the offline game will always be available without creating an account
• We will update this policy before launching any data-collecting feature
• We will not collect more data than is strictly necessary
• We will notify users of the updated policy

Third-Party Services

The current version of the game uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The iOS app is distributed through Apple's App Store; Apple's own Privacy Policy applies to that distribution.

Data Security

Because we don't collect or transmit your data, there is no remote database to breach. Your game data lives on your device, protected by your device's own security (iOS file encryption, etc.).

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially — for example, when online features are added — we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users through an in-app message.
